Frequently asked questions
Is the underlying text really gone?
Yes. Unlike drawing a box on top of a normal PDF page (which still leaves the original text selectable/extractable underneath), this tool converts every page into a flat image first — there's no text layer left to recover, redacted or not.
Will my PDF's text still be searchable/selectable after redaction?
No — since pages become images, the whole redacted PDF loses text selection and search. That trade-off is what makes the redaction actually secure.
